Cookie policy
Last updated:
Cookies and browser storage are small pieces of data a site keeps on your device. I use the bare minimum: a few technical ones that make the site behave as you'd expect, and one analytics set that only switches on if you accept it.
Technical (always on)
None of these identify you personally or leave your browser, except the language cookie, which the server reads to serve the right page.
- NEXT_LOCALE — cookie, 1 year — remembers whether you prefer the site in English or Spanish.
- theme — local storage — remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme.
- srueda-consent-v1 — local storage — stores your analytics decision so you aren't asked on every visit.
- srueda-quote-v1 — session storage — keeps your estimator answers if you reload the page. Cleared when you close the tab.
- srueda-series-lang-v1 and srueda-series-profiles-v1 — local storage — preferences for the /series section.
Analytics (only if you accept)
Until you accept, the site starts with Google Consent Mode set to “denied”: Analytics writes no cookies and reads none that might exist. If you decline, it stays that way.
- _ga and _ga_<ID> — Google Analytics 4 cookies, up to 2 years — count visits and page views in aggregate. Loaded by Google Tag Manager.
Cookieless measurement
Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights measure visits and real-user performance (Core Web Vitals) without cookies and without identifying anyone. That's why they run either way.
Changing your decision
Use the button below to bring the banner back and choose again. You can also clear cookies and local storage from your browser settings; in that case I'll ask you again on your next visit.
